Betty Acquah (born c. 1965) is one of the few consistent Ghanaian female artists, she has painted for over 20 years, utilizing the rare pointillism technique which has become her signature. Acquah is also known for her water colour works which are few and far in between, often with the ‘female’ and ‘movement’ being the central themes.
Acquah has an MFA (painting) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She also lived in Japan a few years where she studied at the Tokyo School of Art. Her water colours bear the influence of her time in Japan. She has exhibited her paintings in Ghana, Nigeria, UK, India, Germany, Spain, Japan and USA
