We are delighted to collaborate with Bootleg Griot who have activated the Rekord Gallery with the 6th installation of their roving libraries.

Bootleg Griot is a concept public library founded in 2021 dedicated to mitigating the accessibility of literature and other forms of print media in our community. Operating as a series of pop-up installations that reimagine the format, function, and dynamics of a modern public library, each activation exists as a uniquely curated space with a selection of works from our collection. A few of the books on display include: Gather Together In my Name by Maya Angelou, Because I’m Involved by Emeka Odumegwu, A Terrible Beauty is Born by W B Yeats, The Lion and The Jewel by Wole Soyinka, Changes by Amma Atta Aidoo, Weep Not Child by Nugugi Wathiongo, There Was A Country by Chinua Achebe, An Archive of Love by Middle East Archive, Sankofa by Chibundu Onuzo and Open Waters by Caleb Azumah.
